The maker
Hello — I’m the hands behind Vøid.
I’m a maker and creative technologist based in Rotterdam, working in three separate crafts: some pieces are cast in recycled silver, some are grown in copper by electroforming, and some are stitched from tiny beads. Everything is designed, finished and checked by hand at my own bench.
You’ll often find me behind a market stall, happy to tell you how a piece was made.
How it’s made
Three techniques
Each piece is made with one of three separate crafts — each with its own tools, materials and character.
Lost-wax casting
Solid pieces in 925 recycled silver: a printed wax model is replaced by molten silver.
Electroforming
Light, organic pieces: copper slowly grows over a form in a bath, then stays copper or is silver-plated.
Fine beadwork
Earrings, necklaces and bracelets, stitched bead by tiny bead into intricate patterns.
